Description
91 points James Suckling
"Fresh falanghina with a slightly saline character to the nose and palate. Subtle and elegant delivery of lemon, white fruit, flowers and sliced apples. Delicate, dry and tangy. Drink now."
Vinous Reverie Notes
Terredora Di Paolo is a story of a family that is closely linked to Campania, its land, its history and its people for generations. With 494 acres of privately owned vineyards in the best sites of the Avellino province, Terredora di Paolo is one of the largest wineries in southern Italy. In Irpinian, the wines exhibit a distinctive personality due to its unique microclimate. The altitude at which the vineyards are found, the soil and the thermal fluctuations develop wines that are intense and elegant and display complex bouquets. Since its establishment in 1978, Terredora di Paolo has focused on rediscovering and restoring Campania’s ancient and native varietals. Corte di Giso is made from estate-owned Falanghina grapes. The altitudes of about 600 meters above sea level of two of the three sites of origin make them, for this variety, among the highest in the entire region, if not the highest anywhere. This special feature ensures a particular, fruity elegance for Falanghina Irpinia Corte di Giso, whose expressive strength and harmony recalls the Madrigals of Carlo Gesualdo, the prince of musicians, who inspired this unusual and evocative name. Tasting Notes: Pale yellow. Rich and intense aroma of fruit with hints of apple, pineapple, quince and pear. Fresh and clean in the mouth with excellent acidity, good structure. Food Pairing: A very food-friendly wine, ideal with hors d’oeuvres, soups, fish dishes, cold dishes, buffalo mozzarella and fresh cheese.
