Located in the heart of old Castile, the vineyard of Ribera del Duero follows the course of the river which winds through the Meseta, for 110 km. The vines are planted on its banks or on the heights of the plateau. The success of the wines of this highly rated DO is the result of a happy alchemy between a warm and dry climate but marked by strong amplitudes (day and night), a variety, the tempranillo (called tinta del país or tinto fino) , and poor soils mixing clays, marls and limestones. Since the 1980s, the great red wines of Ribera del Duero have established themselves as the best wines of Spain.
