Description

91 points Wine Spectator
"Racy and mouthwatering, offering a fragrant overtone of petrol and ripe fruit that transitions to flavors of apple and mandarin orange peel, pineapple and dried mint, plus a touch of lanolin. Shows real drive and mineral character, with a well-spiced and persistent finish. Drink now through 2029. Tasted twice, with consistent notes. 2,617 cases made."

91 points James Suckling
"Attractive aromas of citrus fruit and white peaches, with hints of orchid blossom and fine herbs. Medium-bodied, polished and silky on the palate with clean acidity and mineral, saline undertones at the end. Drink now. Glass stopper."

90 points Vinous
"The 2022 Tokaji Dry Furmint undergoes direct pressing without any de-stemming and is aged in stainless steel for three months. It has a superb, pure, well-defined bouquet with lime flowers and hints of white peach and quince. The 2022 is very pretty. The palate is well balanced with a steely line of acidity and ample salinity with Anjou pear and melon towards the finish. This wine comes highly recommended."

Vinous Reverie Notes
The name Disznóko meaning "the rock of the wild boar" was first recorded in 1413 and refers to a large rock atop a small hill overlooking the vineyards. Listed as a "first growth" as far back as 1732, this 150-ha vineyard in the south west of the Tokaji region has long been regarded as one of the region's finest. As with much of Tokaji, Disznóko's fortunes suffered under nationalization during the Communist era. But, in 1992, it was purchased by AXA Millésimes (owners of Château Pichon Longueville and Quinta do Noval, amongst others) who have reinvigorated Disznóko and put in the love and investment required to return it to the top rank of Tokaji estates. Furmint is the grape used to produce Hungary’s renowned sweet wine, Tokaji. When vinified dry, however, Furmint is capable of producing very compelling white wine exhibiting bouquet of white flowers, having texture and full of minerality. Tasting Notes: Pale yellow with a greenish tint. Fresh and aromatic with hints of white flowers and grapefruit. A palate of exotic fruits with pear and quince followed by a lingering mineral, salty finish. Refreshingly elegant. Food Pairings: It will pair well with shellfish, white fish, salads and picnic foods, but it also possesses the weight and profile to match with white meats and creamy pasta dishes as well.
