Description
93 points Tim Aktin, MW
"25-45 year-old bush vines of a Segovian Verdejo clone provide the grapes for the "entry" wine from Bodegas Naia. The nose is quite discreet and subtle but the palate reveals beautiful peach and apricot fruit, as well as some monte bajo and herbal notes. Mostly fermented in stainless steel but some use of foudre (30%) frames the wine and adds some richness on the palate. A salty, peppery finish. Drink from 2024-2028."
91 points James Suckling
"A crisp and clean white with green apples, pineapples, lemons and fresh almonds on the nose. Medium-bodied with excellent balance and a compact finish."
Vinous Reverie Notes
The village of La Seca is considered the Grand Cru of Rueda and it makes sense that most of the region's oldest vines are found in this commune. With a focus almost entirely on the aforementioned old vines, Bodegas Naia brought attention to La Seca twenty years ago and still make bone-dry, classical 100% Verdejo.
