Description

96 points Jasper Morris
"There will be no En la Richarde Folatières from Héritiers Louis Jadot this year, but this bottling is superb. A little more toastiness on the nose. This builds beautifully to the back of the palate, showing an excellent backbone with just the right elegance of minerality. Really good. Bravo Drink from 2026-2033. Tasted: October 2022."

94 points James Suckling
"Expressive nose of dried pear and butterscotch. Very good ripeness for the vintage is married to a good creaminess and fine tannins. Excellent chalky minerality at the firm, long finish. Needs a bit of time to fully harmonize, but excellent structure, and a very long, elegant finish."

94 points Tim Atkin
"Sultry on the nose with some smoky spice notes, the wine opens quickly to offer spring flowers, pear skin and white peach. It's every bit as balletic and elegant as Folatières should be. Nervous acidity keeps the flavors flowing through the solid finish."

94 points Vinous
"The 2021 Puligny-Montrachet Les Folatières 1er Cru has a backward nose that demands coaxing, eventually revealing Granny Smiths, pear and petrichor aromas. The palate is very harmonious with a lovely spine of acidity. It's delicately spiced with a vivacious and quite persistent finish. This is a very commendable Folatières that will age with style."

93 points Decanter
"The Folatières from Jadot boasts a lovely ripe apple fruit with acacia flower, spice, and cream accents. The texture on the palate has impressive depth and density with balanced acidity and a rewarding finish. The grapes are from a Jadot-owned parcel; they are lightly crushed and settled before fermentation in cask (25% new). This wine should open within a few years and drink well for at least a decade."

93 points Burghound
"Firm reduction dominates the underlying fruit at present. Otherwise, the round, suave and very seductively textured medium weight flavors coat the palate with sappy dry extract while the youthfully austere and balanced finish immediately tightens up to suggest that this too is going to need a decade plus to realize its full potential." *Outstanding*
