Description
90 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
An 80-20 blend of Grenache and Mourvèdre, the 2019 Gigondas Tresor boasts hints of crushed stone and dried herbs set against a backdrop of raspberry fruit. It's only medium-bodied, with a silky feel, giving it a sense of elegance that's uncommon in this vintage. Not overly rich or dense, it nevertheless shows excellent balance, and it should drink well for up to a decade.
Vinous Reverie Notes
Varietal Composition: 80% Grenache, 20% Mourvèdre
Tasting Notes: The combination of a high percentage of Grenache, together with Mourvèdre is a very successful and flattering duo. The Grenache brings roundness, cherry, liquorice, some cocoa and silky tannins. The Mourvedre kicks in starting the mid palate with exotic spices, followed by structure and mouth-length. The terroir brings extra complexity and finesse.
