Description
90 points Wine Spectator
"Lightly chalky, with hints of pastry, poached pear and candied lemon zest running through. Offers a firm bead and a mouthwatering finish."
Jancis Robinson
"100% Chardonnay from east-facing vineyards with chalk soils. Fermentation in stainless-steel tanks for around 14 days at up to 18°C, followed by malolactic conversion for 85% of the juice. Aged on fine lees for nine months prior to bottling, with a further five years in bottle. Winemaker Gilles Marguet. TA 4.5 g/l, pH 3.1, RS 9 g/l. Vegan. Natural cork. Bottle weight 745 g. Available from August 2023.
Gutsy, hearty wine that’s obviously champagne but is a tad loose and unfocused on the palate although very heartfelt somehow. I’d happily drink this – and five years on lees are not to be sniffed at. 17/20 points."
