Vinous Reverie Notes
The Sonnenmulde organic winery of the Schreiner family is located in Gols, one of the most famous and successful wine-growing communities in Austria. There, on the north-eastern shore of Lake Neusiedl, the estate has been owned by the family for many generations. The name Sonnenmulde originated from a vineyard situated in a hollow and the logo, the vine-crowned sun, has always been on the labels of their wines. Excellent soils and the best climatic conditions are the foundation on which they grow their wines. The estate focuses on fruity, clear and refreshing wines, which especially reflect the climate and the character of the soil. All wines are developed vegan.
Donauriesling is a new grape variety that was created by crossing Riesling with fungus-resistant vines. As early as in the 1970s, efforts were made to combine the great quality potential of Riesling with the robust growing characteristics of American vines, and only 40 years later, the results of these efforts are now arriving in viticulture. Although there are noticeable characteristics of Riesling in the wine, this variety is also a bit rounder and fuller bodied than most Rieslings.
