"Clear straw. Aromas and flavors of melon, apple and ripe pear. Well balanced and juicy on the long finish; not the last word in complexity but full of early appeal. This lovely wine is probably the best Aglianico vinified as a white wine that I have ever tried. Made with 100% Aglianico."

"Vibrantly fresh with plenty of fruit-salad character, this is a bright and appealing white for this difficult vintage. Crisp and lively finish. Drink now."

"Made entirely with black grape Aglianico, this refreshing, savory white wine opens with aromas of perfumed blue flower, wild berry and orchard fruit. The bright, rounded palate doles out juicy strawberry, white peach and a hint of crushed stone alongside fresh acidity."
Vinous Reverie Notes
Neroametà is a white wine vinified from black grapes. It is an homage to the region's history and triadition as well as a representation of the Mastroberardino family’s passion for Aglianico and that grape variety’s tremendous versatility. The fruit for Neroametà is sourced from the Mastroberardino family’s Mirabella Eclano estate in the heart of the Taurasi DOCG production zone. An epicenter for Aglianico production, research, and experimentation, this estate is spread over several hills with varying exposures. Neroametà is produced from 100% Aglianico grapes that undergo a fermentazione in bianco—a fermentation typically used for white wines: the skins are removed shortly after pressing and fermentation takes place in stainless steel at low temperature. After fermentation the wine refines for about 10 months sur lies with another 6 months in bottle. Tasting Notes: On the nose, Neroametà is fresh and vibrant with delicate aromas of crushed stone, wild strawberry and violets. The Aglianico grape's naturally high acidity pairs with the wine's plump mouthfeel to keep the profile racy and refreshing. A slight phenolic texture can be detected on the finish, which is refined and elegant. Food Pairing: As a juicy, fragrant white wine, Neroametà has no shortage of suitable applications. However, this wine's slightly more robust structure (a trait that owes to its vinification from the black Aglianico grape) makes it the perfect white wine to accompany burley flavors of food cooked on the grill-- whether vegetarian, pescatarian, or carnivorous.
