"85% is from the 2018 vintage, which was vinified in stainless-steel tanks. 15% is from the 2017 vintage, vinified in five-year-old French oak barrels. Secondary fermentation in bottle was for 12 months.
Bright pale greenish gold. Really appetising baked-apple nose. Rich, medium-dry palate entry and really appetising, clean finish. Opens out in a peacock's tail on the finish and it's really clean and fresh. Not remotely sickly with a very fine bead. Light and gorgeous hint of toffee on the finish. VGV *very good value* 17/20 points."
Festive fizz 2021
"Sparkling Vouvray is one of the wine world’s undervalued treasures and it can age superbly. Made in old oak, Bernard Fouquet’s blend of Chenin Blanc is mainly 2018 with 15% of 2017. Really appetising baked-apple nose with very fine bubbles and a gorgeous toasty hint of toffee on the finish. Not trying to be champagne."
Vinous Reverie Notes
100% Chenin Blanc. Tasting Notes: Bright yellow. Precise, moderately intense bouquet with aromas of toast, apple, and hay. Off-dry with medium acidity, creamy mousse, and concentrated flavors of lemon zest and ginger. A very refreshing wine, with excellent balance, length, and structure. Organic.
