93 points Wine Spectator
"A creamy, softly effervescent Champagne, with pretty notes of apple blossoms and elderflower wafting through flavors of baked white cherry, dried raspberry, salted almond and candied blood orange peel. Shows peach skin texture, with a lightly plump, pleasing juiciness throughout that carries the flavors on the lingering finish. Pinot Meunier, Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. Disgorged September 2022. Drink now through 2028. 450 cases imported."

"Pale straw colour. Quite a bit of development on the nose and very, very much more interesting than the average NV. Bravo! This is what grower's champagne is all about. 17/20 points."

The Best Champagne You've Never Heard Of #11 -- Domaine Dehours Grand Reserve Brut NV
"Monday evening I had the pleasure of dining with Jerome Dehours, a Champagne producer of appealingly unconventional turn.
He makes only about 6,500 cases a year, tiny, yet splits this into 12 different cuvées. Mad, from a business point of view at least, but then Dehours is a driven man, not likely to take the easy, sensible path. He’s a passionate believer in the importance of maximizing the characteristics of each individual vineyard, this in a region known for blending.
Then there’s his affection for Pinot Meurnier, the poor relative of Champagne, overshadowed by its more illustrious cousins, Chardonnay and Pinot Noir.
His holdings are located in La Vallée de la Marne, home to Meurnier, and the varietal dominates his wines, it's “the identity of the brand”. Combine this with exceptionally old vines, long sur lees aging, the use of a solera system for the reserve wines, and the high proportion of them in the non-vintage cuvées – up to 30% -- and you get the big, beefy, intense, personality-filled style that runs all through the portfolio."
