Description
93 points James Suckling
Attractive sweet berry and cherry aromas with some flowers and light spices. Medium-bodied with linear tannins. Very textured. A balanced and pretty 2019. Drink in 2024 and onwards. (10/2022)

Here's one of those fun occasions when a private estate name matches the MGA vineyard name. With fruit from the village of Treiso, the Rizzi 2019 Barbaresco Rizzi is austere and compact with a rich display of dark cherry and currant. Pretty layers of spice and leather fill in at the back, giving this wine a stronger sense of power and momentum. This vintage came out very nicely. 2024 – 2036 (ML) (8/2022)
92 points Wine Enthusiast
Red berry, blue flower and ground nutmeg aromas come to the forefront. Linear and already accessible, the palate offers sour cherry, spiced cranberry and star anise accompanied by fine-grained tannins and fresh acidity. Drink through 2029. (Kerin O’Keefe)(9/2022)
17.5 points Jancis Robinson
Alba. Just mid ruby. Concentrated raspberry and strawberry with a peppery tingle and saline, minerally hints. Ripe raspberry fruit that really sticks to the elegant palate. Fresh acidity and a layer of cracking tannins on the finish. Long, precise and lithe. 2022 – 2030 (WS) (5/2022)
Vinous Reverie Notes
Notes of fresh fruit and underbrush combine to create Rizzi’s signature Barbaresco elegance and purity. Prominent in the mouth with a lingering longevity on the finish, also portending great ageability.
