Description
93 points Wine Enthusiast
"Bright, elegant and nuanced with crunchy acidity that's nicely buried under lively Meyer lemon, Mirabelle plum and verbena notes, this wine features sprinkles of honeysuckle and acacia, with a long, piercing finish. It is not a flashy style, but it shows great persistence."
90 points Wine Spectator
"Sleek in feel, with a rich cascade of warm apple, mandarin orange and sun tea, laced with accents of roasted pineapple and spicy ginger. Gains lift from pithy, bitter-edged acidity. Mouthcoating, yet still very fresh, with a salty, smoky vein of minerality. Drink now. 100 cases imported."
Vinous Reverie Notes
Representing the ninth generation of wine growers who have for over 200 years produced world-famous cuves such as "Sandgrube" and "Weinzierlberg," Wolfgang Aigner continues his family's tradition of creating complex, fruity and earthy wines. As far back as 1135 AD, the name "Weinzierlpersch" can be found in archives of the time. The ground here consists of a mixture of gravel from the Danube and prehistoric rock which is covered by a layer of loess, about 1.5 meters thick.
