Description
94 points James Suckling
"Quite an exotic nose with hints of Thai basil coming through. Quite a firmly structured wine, the restrained citrus and berry fruit carrying this very harmonious dry riesling that has a wonderful interplay of fruit, lees creaminess and stony acidity. A cuvee of wines from the Olberg and Orbel GG sites. From biodynamically grown grapes with Respekt certification. Drink or hold."
92+ points Falstaff
"Focused aromatics. Not so much in breadth, but in depth. Spicy, it shows its provenance. Some phenolics that run silky along the palate. Very well balanced, it has a prancing concentration. Long lasting, multi-faceted and lively."
Vinous Reverie Notes
Selection of grapes from the Niersteiner Orbel and Niersteiner Ölberg locations, both pure southern locations in the well-known Niersteiner “Red Hang”. The soil is dominated by Rotlegen, the red clay slate that contains iron oxide and is typical for the region and characterizes the landscape. Its structure is partly very fissured, which allows the vines to root deeply. The slate soils provide a fireworks display of minerality. Grapefruit and salt in the mouth, supported by a precise acidity.
