Anyone looking for the best houses in the Sancerre region will sooner or later come across the brothers Clément and Florent Pinard. They are 15 generations old and experienced winemakers. The winery is named after the brothers' father, who turned it into the 17-hectare winery that it is today. Part of the vineyards is called "Les Créots". It is a plot near Thauvenay, a small community east of Bue. The vines are around 30 years old and are planted close together. The soil is muddy clay. The yields are low, the grapes are selectively picked by hand and matured in large oak barrels. No new wood should distort the pure expression. "Les Créots" is the classic introduction to the very unique, very special world of Sauvignon Blancs from Sancerre. These wines always have their own character. Tasting Notes: This wine has a pleasantly fresh and charming scent of mint and a little lime, lemon and nectarine, paired with herbs and lichen on wet stone. On the palate, "Les Créots" is round and juicy, yet energetic, fresh and lively. The green component of herbs, lime and a little boxwood is a little more prominent here, while the juiciness is reserved for the white-fleshed fruit components. In a way, it is a reserved Sancerre in the sense of perfect elegance, but in which the complexity of the wine resonates just as much as its carefree attitude.
