Description
91 points James Suckling
A tangy array of wild herbs and spices colors the bright berry fruit. Hints of minerals and tangerines, too. Medium-bodied and quite elegant and fluid, with silky, refined tannins. A juicy and very well-made Rosso, to enjoy now.
91 points Vinous
Masses of black cherry, ashen stone, leather strap and a lifting whiff of mentholated herbs form a captivating bouquet as the 2020 Rosso di Montalcino blossoms in the glass. It’s silky and pliant, with a burst of inner sweetness up front that gives way to depths of tart wild berries with mineral underpinnings. This holds its power in reserve, finishing lightly structured and spicy, while leaving tarry raspberry and cranberry nuances to linger through the crunchy finale. Unlike many other wines of the vintage, this is a 2020 Rosso that’s built for the cellar. 91+ points.
91 points Raffaele Vecchione - WinesCritic.com
Slightly reductive on first impact showing a lot of material and spices. Notes of red prunes and orange peel blend with mixed citrusy hints. Medium bodied, slightly biting tannins and a solid, fulfilling finale. Drink now. Tasted: Nov 2022
Vinous Reverie notes
Exuberant red fruits, subtle spice notes and soft, pleasant tannins on the intense, elegant finish.
Traditional ageing in big oak barrels and renewed vineyard management based on climatic changes and in favor of the territory constitute the best strategy to obtain wines that best express the territory of Montalcino.
