"This groundbreaking wine introduced Fiano to Sicily, and Sicily to the world upon the release of its first vintage, 2000. 10% is vinified in 35hl French oak barrels; the majority in stainless steel, with plenty of lees stirring. The 2021 is a bright, mineral wine with aromas of green fruits, balsam and tropical fruits, while in the mouth it delivers soft stone fruits, honeysuckle and yellow fruits. The mid-palate is stony and the finish honeyed. Classy."

"The 2021 Cometa opens with a honeyed sweetness, complicated by dried apricots and peaches and then enriched by a hint of sweet butter. This is distinctly savory in style, with silken textures and masses of mineral-tinged orchard fruits that slowly saturate. The 2021 finishes perfumed and long, leaving sour melon and sweet herbal tones to resonate. There is so much to like about this varietal Fiano. It's a wine of lovely contrasts."
