"The 2020 Vacqueyras Garrigues is a terrific looking classic cuvée with a medium-bodied, elegant, silky style as well as pure red and black fruits, some spicy, floral nuances, ultra-fine tannins, and outstanding length. It could be a real superstar of a wine, and it's well worth seeking out."
Vinous Reverie Notes
Montirius is a beautiful spot on the foothills of the “Dentelles de Montmirail” that are themselves foothills of the highest peak in Provence, Mont Ventoux, which is situated just to the east. To make it simple, you are in Provence, in Vacqueyras and if you look up you can see Gigondas! The Saurel family have been farming for a few generation this land. Blend: 70% Grenache, 30% Syrah. Age of Vines is 65 years old on average. The soil is 'Garrigues’ or plains soil and sub soil, on blue marl clay. Tasting Notes: A deep red wine. On the nose an explosion of red fruits. In the mouth, a lovely tannic structure, aromas of the Garrigues or plains, and underwood.
