93 points John Gilman, View from the Cellar
"The 2020 Chiroubles “Claudius” bottling from Domaine de la Grosse Pierre is another ripe example of this vintage, coming in at 14.5 percent octane. But, like so many of the top examples from 2020, the wine is impressively vibrant and pure, showing absolutely no signs of over-ripeness in its beautiful bouquet of black cherries, pomegranate, a hint of bitter chocolate, peonies, dark soil tones, fresh thyme and plenty of upper register smokiness. On the palate the wine is deep, pure and full-bodied, with a great core of fruit, firm, chewy tannins, excellent focus and mineral undertow and a long, balanced and quite youthful finish. I cannot remember advocating cellaring before drinking a young example of Chiroubles, but the 2020 Claudius from Pauline Passot is going to demand some time hibernating to blossom. It will be stellar once it is ready to drink. 2026-2055."

“Fine mid purple. A little sunnier on the nose but in a graceful way. Again, it is a touch warmer at the back but the crunch is a delight and the length really impressive. Sensual strawberry notes.”

"At 90 years old, the vines in this wine give both structure and concentration. It's a ripe wine, full of black-plum fruits, shot through with acidity and finished firm tannins. Drink the wine from 2023."
Vinous Reverie Notes
From vines that are 90-100 years old. One-year aging in barrels results in a fine bouquet with woody aromas. Characterized by its ample fruit, as well as by its volume and structure. Excellent length on the finish.
