"From celebrated winemaker Carlo Ferrini, the Alberelli di Giodo 2016 Sicilia Nerello Mascalese marks a beautiful inaugural performance for what promises to be a name to watch on Etna. This wine shows power and depth with radiant fruit tones. Wild raspberry and cassis segue to tar, smoke and crushed volcanic stone. The wine shows some of the leanness that is characteristic of this vintage, yet it also delivers enough drive and power to maintain high and exciting momentum. Congratulations, Carlo."

"Aromas of strawberries, cherries and flowers – from honeysuckle to lavender. Full-bodied, tight and vivid with gorgeous, linear, ultra-fine tannins and a crisp and bright finish. Citrusy at the end. Builds on the palate. Great length. First wine from Etna from Carlo Ferrini. Drink or hold."

"Elegant, bright ruby red. Initially closed on the nose, very delicate flint underlined by spicy notes, then dried tomato, olive paste, cherry. Smooth and creamy on the palate, opens elegantly and juicy on very tightly woven tannins, mineral core, presses decisively on the palate in the finale, for a long time."

"Very pale crimson. Strong strawberry fruit nose. Then the grip of very pure-textured grainy Etna. Needs food! Fresh and lively and absolutely gorgeous. Long and reverberant and quintessentially transparent. Even better from magnum. 18/20 points."
