Description
99 points Falstaff
"Bright ruby red. The nose initially has aromas of freshly baked black bread, cranberries, fine earthy notes, a touch of dark chocolate and wood. The palate is juicy, clear, bright, vivid, with tight-knit tannins, continuously juicy, great length!"
98 points James Suckling
"Impressive aromas of fresh herbs from the Tuscan coast, such as sage, mint, rosemary and thyme. Blackcurrants, too. Full-bodied with fine, chewy tannins that show beautiful length and consistency. Racy and beautiful, with lots of subtle and refined character. Slightly more cabernet sauvignon this year, which adds class to the wine. 80% cabernet sauvignon, 10% merlot and 10% petit verdot. Give this about three or four years of bottle age. Try after 2027."
Jancis Robinson
"Released in January 2023 (‘because we need to keep investing’ – they’re planning a new building for offices and tasting room for example). Very different year from the 2019. They increased the Cabernet Sauvignon for this hot, dry vintage only (60 to 80%). Plus 10% each of Merlot and Petit Verdot. The Merlot did not thrive in the heat of 2020.
Very bright crimson. Very linear cassis nose. Great purity. Little bit of oak still. Still a bit dry on the end but certainly impressive. 17.5/20 points."
