Description
92 points Vinous
"Opaque ruby. Mineral-accented aromas of blackberry, cherry-cola and violet are complemented by a hint of exotic spices. Sappy and appealingly sweet, offering palate-staining black and blue fruit, floral pastille, smoky mineral and spicecake flavors and a subtle hint of salty olive paste. Finishes sweet and long, displaying resonating mineral and floral notes and steadily building tannins."

"Including 3% Viognier, Billon's 2018 Côte Rôtie Les Elotins is the entry level cuvée of the estate and offers a meaty, black-fruited style that carries medium to full-bodied richness, plenty of tannins, and notes of chocolate, crushed rocks, ground herbs, and pepper. Give bottles 2-3 years of bottle age."
