Description
92 points Wine Enthusiast
"This dark-ruby-colored wine has a nose of black currant, dark plums and dried Mediterranean herbs. It is juicy at first sip, with full on cherry-pie and blackberry-preserve flavors accompanied by notes of fennel bulb, dried thyme, coffee bean and freshly ground black pepper. Bold tannins slowly fill the palate and then recede into a soft, spicy finish."
Vinous Reverie Notes
Cellers Grifoll Declara is a Priorat project that is based in the village of El Molar. Located in the Southwest corner of the region, this is one of two villages that have some vineyards with calcareous soils as well as the classic llicorella slate. The Grifoll family have been grape growers going back to the 18th century. They farm organically and sustainably. The winemaking is done with as little intervention as possible.
