Description
91 points Vinous
"Sweetly scented and impossible to ignore, the 2022 Pallagrello Bianco Caiatì opens in the glass with notes of peach and mango complemented by sweet white flowers and a dusting of spice. This soothes with its cooling acidity as lime-tinged orchard fruits and ripe green melon hints wash across the senses. It finishes long, potent and fresh, leaving traces of tropical citrus and fresh mint lingering."
Vinous Reverie Notes
This indigenous white grape of Campania, Pallagrello Bianco, was loved and cultivated by Ferdinando IV, King of Naples in the early 19th century. The grapes for this bottling come from the Terre del Volturno IGT, from a vineyard in Casalicchio which sits at 900 feet above sea level. The grapes are sustainably farmed and after harvest, 50% are fermented in stainless steel for 30 days and 50% are fermented in neutral oak for 90 days.
