"Honey and barley sugar dance on the nose. They also vie for attention on the unctuous palate where their rich and decadent sweetness is revealed. This, however, is countered by an acidic thrill of pure lemon, suggesting candied lemon peel in a sea of rich caramel. A touch of passion fruit can be glimpsed, too. The interaction between these opposing poles creates tension in this lip-smacking, lemony- bright wine."

"Wolfgang Peck works with local winemaking star Josef Umathum at this co-op in far-eastern Austria. Made entirely of scheurebe, it bursts with flavor, the energy of the acidity sending the green herb, spice and pink grapefruit flavors through the mouth like fireworks. It’s sweet but refreshing at the same time, balanced for a cheese plate." *Best Buy*
Vinous Reverie Notes
A lovely dessert wine crafted from the Schuerebe grape, which is a traditional grape used for making sweet wines in this region. Notes of honeyed citrus and a hint of spice play around in this wonderfully balanced wine. It's sweet, but there's a nice zip of acidity that makes you keep going back for another sip. Pair this with blue cheeses, foie gras and pates, or alongside dessert (or even as the dessert, perhaps with just a bit of dark bittersweet chocolate.
