"This Mencía smells more ripe than fresh, with aromas of prune, raisin and spice cake. A jammy palate is a touch overweight, while mocha, spice, raisin and cassis flavors finish rich and chocolaty. Drink now for its ripe friendliness."
Vinous Reverie Notes
100% Mencia. Vinos de Arganza turns into a family business when it was bought by long-time wine industry professional, Víctor Robla and his wife Ángeles Varela, who can trace her own family’s wine-making history to this region over 500 years ago. With a long tradition of producing wine in Bierzo, it only made sense that their children transition into the family business. Today, Vinos de Arganza relies on their terroir, traditional know-how, and combines that with current technological advances to improve their wine making process with a commitment to quality and value! Elaboration: The fruit is manually harvested. Fermentation occurs in temperature controlled stainless steel tanks. The wine ages for 3 months in French and American oak barrels before bottling. Tasting Notes: Intense ruby color, with ripe blackberry and blueberry aromas. Beautifully balanced smokey cedar oak notes. These red fruit notes transpire onto a silky smooth, juicy, herbal rounded palate.
