"There was just a touch of frost damage in the domaine’s holdings in les Preuses in 2017, so the yields here were down by ten percent. The wine is brilliant, offering up a deep and enormously complex nose of grapefruit, tart pear, green apple, a kaleidoscopic base of chalky and oyster shell minerality, orange peel, a whisper of vanillin oak and an exotic, savory topnote that is redolent of fresh tarragon! On the palate the wine is pure, full-bodied, racy and absolutely rock solid at the core, with great detail and complexity. The finish is very, very long, youthfully reserved and vibrant, with laser-like focus and great grip. A magical les Preuses in the making, but give it some time in the cellar to really blossom. Drink from 2026-2075."
