"The 2016 Brunello di Montalcino has aromatics of menthol and medicinal herbs, brushed leather, and black cherry. The palate is dark fruited without weight, marked with dried blackberry, black tea, dried herbs, and classically balanced structure. It is sourced from three different vineyard sites of various exposition on the hill of Montalcino. This will be ready to drink a touch earlier and be great to check in on over the next 15 years."

"Dusty notes with crushed gravel and dried tea leaves are a prelude to aromas of fresh button mushrooms and hints of fennel. Savory mushrooms and olives, followed by firm, fine-grained tannins. Structured and full-bodied."

"Aromas of iron, blood and cherry lead off in this smooth and vibrant red, with a well of dark fruit—black cherry and lackberry—settling in on the palate. Offers a dusting of dark chocolaty tannins on the finish. Best from 2023 through 2043. 1,500 cases imported."

"Grapes from all three vineyards are fermented separately with a total skin maceration of 20 to 25 days. Aged for 24 months in 50-hl Slavonian oak casks and 12 months in concrete tanks followed by at least 12 months in bottle.
Mid ruby. Still a little closed but with brooding intensity. Succulent concentrated sweet-sour cherry fruit palate lined with lots of powdery tannins. Supple and juicy and with a medium-bodied feel to it. Ends a little racy. 17/20 points. (WS)"
Vinous Reverie Notes
Tasting Note: The Val di Suga Brunello di Montalcino 2016 style is very classic. It shows characteristics of blood orange and red fruits complexed by hints of spices. The palate is refined with silky and integrated tannins. The pale ruby color shows the vibrancy and energy of our Brunello style. Val di Suga’s focus is on elegance over richness and power.
