Vinous Reverie Notes
Vranec is the principal indigenous red grape variety in Macedonia and a relative of Zinfandel. At Tikves, their Vranec comes from vineyards planted at an elevation of 500 meters above sea level where temperatures are moderated by cool breezes. Fermentation occurs in large wooden vats followed by aging in French oak barrels. Tasting notes: Vranec is a quality dry red wine with intense dark ruby red color. The wine exhibits a pronounced aroma of mixed dried plums, blackberries and currants. It has a rich full body with soft tannins and a uniquely lingering finish.
