Description
90 points Vinous
The 2021 Trebbiano d’Abruzzo is intense yet fresh with vivid peach and young mango giving way to mint and white flowers. This washes across the palate with mineral intensity and pure orchard fruits, yet it comes across as round and soothing in feel. A salty flourish lingers, along with hints of lime, as the 2021 tapers off long and sapid. While not a wine for the ages, Cristiana Tiberio did a fabulous job dealing with the warm and dry conditions of the year. 2022 – 2025 ( October, 2022)
17.5 points Jancis Robinson
Straw yellow. Intense, savoury cedro (citron) nose with notes of orange and garden herbs. Focused, crisp lemon fruit. Linear but with plenty of stuffing. Simply gorgeous and something for Riesling lovers. 2023 – 2030 (April 2023)
Vinous Reverie Notes
The story of Azienda Agricola Tiberio begins at 350 meters, twenty-three miles inland from the seaside city of Pescara near the hillside town of Cugnoli. Here, Riccardo Tiberio found an old plot of Trebbiano Abruzzese vines roughly 50 years old so impressive that he decided to change his and his family’s destiny. These are old-vine, limestone-terroir wines that we absolutely adore.
Clear, bright yellow with green highlights. Fresh aromas of apricot, jasmine, grapefruit, orange blossom and anise. The palate is clean and crisp with zingy flavors and scents of green apple, anise and almonds.
Pair with freshwater fish, seafood, eggs, vegetable starters, and fried foods.
