Bright orangey gold. Has the sort of intense and inviting aroma that makes me laugh out loud – it suggests such deliciousness. Smells of baked apples stuffed with raisins and apricots reduced down to their essence, with a touch of bitter orange. Thick and viscous in the mouth, packed with flavours that match the aromas and utterly seductively delicious. Very persistent and beautifully balanced. Long honeyed and just-fresh aftertaste. 17/20 points. (JH)"
Vinous Reverie Notes
Winery: Malvasia delle Lipari is our "nectar of the gods", a DOC wine, which comes from vineyards perched on terraces overlooking the sea. An example of heroic viticulture that brings to light one of the most ancient and celebrated enological pearls of the Mediterranean. Climate: temperate, warm, Mediterranean, with great temperature changes throughout the day. Windy. Soil: Sandy, volcanic, deep, fertile and rich in microelements, on terraces facing southwest on the sea. Tasting Notes: A brilliant golden yellow wine. Complex olfactory notes of ripe apricot, figs, elderberries and raisins with hints of Mediterranean scrub. The taste has a great balance between sweetness and acidity that make this wine pleasantly fresh and never redundant. Food Pairing: Perfect with the typical pastry of Lipari, and with fat, spicy and aged cheeses. Excellent meditation wine.
