Jancis Robinson
"Lot 49. Somewhat pale ruby with an even paler rim. Light, almost ethereal nose. Really very delicate indeed but beautifully balanced. Just dances around the palate. It would be a clever taster who immediately recognised this as Napa Valley as it is just SO unlike the stereotype. A gritty mineral finish even though there is very little tannin in evidence. Bone-dry finish. Light-bodied. 18/20 points."
Vinous Reverie Notes
One of the great and most famous Napa Valley vineyards, producing fruit with an abundance of supple red and black berry character, voluptuous perfume and a luscious, fine-grained texture. The 66-acre vineyard is planted primarily to Cabernet Sauvignon with 1.5 acres of Cabernet Franc. The soil is a combination of fine Bale gravelly clay loam and volcanic alluvium.
