"The blend of mainly grapes normally associated with Douro wines has produced a rich, dense wine. Firm tannins still show strongly, but they are balanced by the succulent blackberry fruits. The wine, serious and concentrated will age further, so drink from 2022."
"A blend of 45% Touriga Nacional, 20% Tinta Roriz, 15% Touriga Franca, 10% Castelão, 10% Alicante Bouchet on calcareous clay. Fermented in lagares with robotic pigeage and in tank. Malo and 18 months' ageing in used French oak. TA 5.58 g/l, pH 3.75. Winemaker Sandra Tavares da Silva (Wine & Soul).
Deepish cherry red. Deliciously open and fruity on the nose – both red and black fruits, a light spice and the tangy sweetness of wild hedgerow berries. Packed with crunchy, vibrant fruit that is sweet but fresh. The tannins are firm and chewy and perfectly matched to all that generous fruit. Fills the mouth and finishes on a slightly more savoury, dark flavour, plus a gentle oak spice. Only the roundness hints at that the little bit of bottle age. Drinking perfectly now but it has plenty of life ahead. Full of flavour and no unwanted sweetness from the fruit or the oak. 16.5/20 points. (JH)"
Vinous Reverie Notes
45% Touriga Nacional, 20% Tinta Roriz, 15% Touriga Franca, 10% Castelão and 10% Alicante Bouschet. Tasting Notes: Deep color of violet tonality, good concentration in the nose. Rich perfume of mature black fruit, spices and floral notes. Very fine and elegant on the palate with soft tannins combined with good acidity and a long aftertaste.
