"Absolutely delicious, this elegant, fragrant wine offers enticing aromas of violet, red berry, citrus and baking spice. The bone-dry, foaming palate delivers strawberry, raspberry and red cherry, accented with cinnamon and ginger notes. Crisp acidity gives it a pristine, quenching finish that leaves you wanting more." *Editor's Choice*
"100% Lambrusco di Sorbara grown in a single vineyard. Free-run juice only and fermented without the skins, followed by re-fermentation in pressurised tanks where it remained for three months on the lees.
Pale salmon pink as Lambrusco di Sorbara has very little colour pigment in the skins. Probably not what generally is expected of Lambrusco but this is the genuine article. This is a frizzante but the CO2 is more than lively and with good persistence. Fresh nose of raspberry and wild strawberry with notes of cranberry and grapefruit. Super-fresh, pure rhubarb palate. At first the tart rhubarb comes as a bit of a shock, but the purity and persistence of the fruit is truly captivating. Highly recommended. 17++/20 points. (WS)"
Vinous Reverie Notes
Leclisse or Eclipse is the flagship wine for Paltrinieri. The grapes are 100% Sorbara and are selected from the best grapes generally found in the oldest section of the Il Cristo vineyard. The wine is produced using the Martinotti method or long Charmat method where the wine is left on the lees in pressurized stainless steel tank for a period of 3 months. This method produces a wine with a sleek and creamy profile with delightful soft perlage and clean minerality and acidity that elevates the fruit and complexity to something very close to fine Champagne.
