"Lucien Moutard began producing Champagne under his own name in 1952 from grapes grown on his family’s land in the Côte des Bar. The Côte des Bar is situated in the Southeast of Champagne’s boundary. This “underdog” terroir is super hot right now, and for good reason."

"Moutard’s NV Brut Cuvée Prestige is a bold, rich, creamy and ample wine with notable depth and tons of texture. The Prestige is a bit rustic, but it compensates for that with its resonant feel. This release is equal parts Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, based on 2015 with 20% reserve wines. Disgorged: June, 2020."
Vinous Reverie Notes
Varietal Composition: 50% Chardonnay 50% Pinot Noir. The grapes are sourced from vineyards that are 10 to 20 years old, pruned in the Chablis style for the Chardonnay and pruned using the Guyot technique for the Pinot Noir during the first days of March. The vineyards consist of lay-limestone soils on the Kimmeridgian bank of the Cote des Bar, Village of Buxeuil and Polisy. Tasting Notes: Aromas of dried fruits, brioche and candied citrus. On the palate, there are notes of peach and hazelnuts that linger long in the finish.
