“The 2020 Riesling Kinheimer Rosenberg Kabinett (Green Capsule) is pretty reductive and untamed on the nose but clear and fascinating. Lush and round on the palate, this is a pretty sweet and mouth-filling Kabinett that is almost bordering on the sweeter golden capsule style for my tastes. The wine has texture and length and reveals good grip on the finish. It can age for at least two decades. 10% stated alcohol. Natural cork. Tasted at the domaine in July 2022.”
Vinous Reverie Notes
Tasting Notes: Clear, cool, fine and "typical Riesling" on the nose. Surprisingly dense and aromatic on the palate. An animating Riesling, which clearly reveals its mineral finesse only in the aftertaste. The winery Markus Molitor spreads on several terroirs from Brauneberg over Traben-Trarbach up to the river, Saar. Nearly as old as the winery itself, there are up to more than 100-year-old vines growing on unique steep slopes with a declination of up to 80%. For each grape variety, the vintner cultivates, Markus Molitor chooses the perfectly apt vineyard. To his grape varieties count the Pinot Blanc and Pinot Gris, but mainly the Riesling.
