Description
90 points Vinous
"Luminous pale straw-green. Fragrant lemon verbena and jasmine notes complement aromas of green apple and yellow apple. Fresh, juicy and nicely flavored; the silky texture is firmed by harmonious acidity and salinity. Elements of iodine and mint emerge along with hints of chlorophyll on the long finish. A very pretty, floral wine.
Founded in 1968 by Albert Vevey (the first president of the Associazione Vitticulteurs de Morgex) and run today by sons Mirko and Mario Vevey, this is one of the few estates making Blanc de Morgex et La Salle wines (most of this denomination’s production is bottled by the extremely fine cooperative Cave du Mont Blanc). The small family-run Albert Vevey estate (only 1.5 hectares) has always been a real quality leader in the region…The best and simplest thing I can say about this estate is that just about any wine you pick from Albert Vevey virtually guarantees quality in your glass."
Vinous Reverie Notes
100% Prié Blanc. Maison Vevey Albert Winery is located in Morgex, in the Upper Aosta Valley, the smallest region of Italy, on the northwestern border of the Italian border, nestled between France and Switzerland. The vineyards are planted at the upper limits of viticulture with altitudes of 1000- 1200 meters above sea level. This is true mountain wine. The domaine was founded in 1968 by Albert Vevey, a pioneer of Valdostan winegrowing. In 1990, sons Mario and Mirko took over the family business and have been in charge of production ever since. The vineyards are tended in the tradition manner, with only organic fertilizers used. The only treatments for the vines are sulfur treatments and hydroxide copper. Tasting Notes: Delicate notes of mountain herbs and hay, dry freshness, and bright acidity. Pairs with light appetizers, soft cheese, fish and oysters.
