92 points Vinous
"Brilliant magenta. A complex, highly perfumed bouquet displays fresh cherry and raspberry scents, along with exotic spice, cola and smoky mineral notes. Stains the palate with sweet red fruit, floral pastille and spicecake flavors that deepen steadily on the back half. Conveys a suave blend of richness and energy and finishes impressively long and juicy, with well-knit, rounded tannins and resonating floral and mineral notes."
Vinous Reverie Notes
Laurent Martray has been a winemaker based in Odenas since 1987. His vines are located on the hillside of Combiaty facing east and south-east. The Brouilly vines include one hectare in the town of Saint-Etienne-la-Varenne and eight hectares in the municipality of Odenas. The soil is granitic rock, sand and silt on the surface. The work in the vineyard is carried out entirely by hand with the lowest possible levels of mechanization in the winery. Vine production is controlled by pruning, and also thinning if needed. The harvest is entirely manual. Ageing is in oak barrels or casks. Bottling is carried out without any filtering.
