"The 2016 La Berta Solano leads off with a dark and perfumed display of Sangiovese, showing black cherry with peppery herbs, giving way to savory spice and dusty dried floral notes. Silky textures splash across the senses with a burst of black cherry and spice, propelled by zesty acids, then framed by a complex web of minerals and tannins, which slowly dries the senses. The finish is long and wonderfully floral, yet clenching the palate with youthful structure, as dried red fruits and botanicals slowly fade. Its a classic expression of Sangiovese"

"The 2016 Romagna Sangiovese Superiore Solano is another Sangiovese-based wine that wears its Romagnolo hat with pride. The Solano is partially aged in stainless steel and partially in barrique for ten months. You get lots of varietal purity as a result, with the crisp and sharply delineated lines that characterize this classic and slightly cooler vintage. Wild berry and fresh raspberry cede to light shadings of earth and spice."
