"Light yellow-green, silver reflections. Delicate apple fruit and herbs, some lemon balm, floral touch, fresh orange zest. Juicy, elegant, fine structure, peach touch, light-footed, citrus in the finish, a hint of pears in the aftertaste, already easy to drink, mineral aftertaste."

"The 2020 Grner Veltliner Kies opens bright and with intense white fruit and coolish stony aromas that immediately attract without taking us all too deep into the geology of the Kamptal where this inexpensive but super attractive wine is sourced (entirely in the Kiesling vineyard, to be more precise). However, this is sold as wine from Lower Austria (Niedersterreich), which is a far more extended appellation congruent with the eponymous state. Medium-bodied on the palate, this is an elegant, fresh and vital Veltliner with spicy, classic Veltliner fruit and delicate bitters on the finish. A gorgeous wine... Kurt Angerer's portfolio contains some of Austria's Best Buys (all of his Grner Veltliners)... Drink 2021-2027"
Vinous Reverie Notes
Due to Kurt Angerer's uncompromising commitment to high quality - both in the vineyards as well as his approach to vinification - the wines in his cellar are considered some of the best in Kamptal. The estate is a family business active for over 150 years. Kurt feels strongly attached to the traditions and the terroir of these holdings which he honors in the names of his wines: Kies, Spies, Loam, Granite and Eichenstaude. The mineral structure, the diverse location bedrock soil and far-reaching loose soil (gravel) contribute to the uniqueness of the wines.
