"Interestingly this is a bit less elegant than the Murmure yet certainly more complex with its beautifully well-layered nose that also combines notes of green apple, yeast, spice, brioche and a range of floral elements. It is somewhat less refined on the palate as well though the grand cru fruit is in evidence as the full-bodied flavors possess more volume and power before terminating in a beautifully long and equally complex finish. The supporting mousse is more evident as well though I would still describe this as a softer example and overall, this too is a really lovely effort built for current consumption."

"This has freshness and lightly spiced pastry, white-peach, grilled-hazelnut and apricot aromas. The palate follows suit with strong apricots and hints of lemons. Bold and vibrant, there’s good concentration here. Drink or hold."

"A harmonious Champagne, framed by mouthwatering acidity and a refined bead, this offers flavors of glazed apricot, lemon pound cake, crushed hazelnut and fleur de sel. Features a lasting finish, with mineral and fresh ginger notes."
Vinous Reverie Notes
Importer: In the heart of the chalk wonderland of Le Mesnil-sur-Oger, Didier Vergnon and his son Clément are the 4th and 5th generations to lead this small 5 hectare estate. Founded in 1950, it was in 1985 that Jean-Louis Vergnon first began producing estate-bottled wine from some of their choice sites, including multiple Grand Cru parcels in and next to the legendary Les Chétillons. Since Jean-Louis took over, he pushed to harvest only balanced and ripe grapes, with up to 11 degrees of natural potential alcohol or more. This allowed the family to completely eliminate chaptalization, block malolactic fermentation, and use a generally very low dosage across the range. Tasting through the remarkable range of Didier and Clément’s wines, there exists the classic virile qualities of Le Mesnil that has made this village so famous and lauded around the world. The current releases are truly brilliant and the future is truly bright. 100% Chardonnay. 45 year old vines on average. 90% Le Mesnil Grand Cru, 10% Oger and Avize Grand Cru.
