Description
92 points Wine Enthusiast
"The pure scent of crunchy, ripe red cherries melds with a hint of cinnamon on the nose. On the palate, the juicy ripeness of the fruit becomes even more apparent and the cherry notions become rounder. They are, however, countered by a wonderfully strident freshness that makes this refreshing and bold."
92 points Falstaff
"Dark ruby garnet, violet reflections, delicate ocher rim lightening. Ripe heart cherries with a delicate smoky background, nuances of plums, floral touch, mineral. Medium complexity, fresh cherries, well-integrated tannins, salty finish, already well developed and versatile."
Vinous Reverie Notes
The grapes for the Ortswein Prellenkirchen Samt&Seide are selected from a total of 20 plots, all of which are located on the southern slope of the Spitzerberg, namely in the vineyards of Spitzer, Roterd, Panholzer, wooden vineyards and Kranz. Vineyards that are between 15 and 35 years old provide the grapes for this wine, with the older vines responsible for the "silkyness" and the younger vines for the "velvetty" of the wine. What they have in common is the precise character of the limestone soil, the fine berry aroma and the refreshing acid structure.
