"I loved the 2017 Côtes du Roussillon Centenaire from Jean-Marc. This smoking good white is 80% Grenache Blanc (and Grenache Gris) and 20% Roussanne brought up in 30% new barrels. It comes from older vines planted next to the Mediterranean and offers lots of tart citrus, mint, white grapefruit, and ample salty minerality. It’s fresh, crisp, and undeniably delicious. I’m sure it will evolve well, but there’s no need to delay gratification."

"The 2017 Centenaire Blanc includes 20% non-centenary Roussanne, but the balance is Grenache Blanc and Grenache Gris. It's medium to full-bodied, with ripe guava and melon notes and a velvety-textured mid-palate underscored by a crisp, lime-zest-driven finish."
Vinous Reverie Notes
Cuvée Centenaire takes its name from the 100 year-old vines of Grenache Blanc and Gris Jean-Marc Lafage farms just a few kilometers from the Mediterranean on gravelly clay soils. One of the greatest white wine values in our portfolio, the final wine blends these ancient grapes with up to 20% younger vine Roussanne. To make a wine that is both rich and balanced the grapes are harvested in two passes, the first when they just reach ripeness and are still high in acidity and a second pass when the grapes are fully ripe with rich fruit flavors. The wine is then aged in a combination of tank and new French oak barrels. Variety: Grenache Blanc, Grenache Gris, Roussanne. Organic.
