Description
1 Stars Hachette Guide
“This domain created in 1925 is a safe bet in the Sarthe wine region. François Fresneau acquired his first parcel of Jasnières in 1975 and, after a flawless run, he has just passed the torch to the fourth generation: his children Xavier and Amandine, who farm around fifteen hectares of hillsides in Coteaux du Loir and Jasnières. This pale gold 2015 with silver reflections expresses itself on notes of white flowers underlined by a fine mineral frame. The fruits (peach, mango) take over in a round and generous mouth.”
Vinous Reverie Notes
Domaine de Cezin is led by father and son/daughter team, Francois, Xavier, and Amandine Cezin. Today they have 15 hectares in the two appellations of Coteaux du Loir (12.5 ha) and Jasnieres (2.5 ha). Their winery was founded back in 1925. This Jasnieres is made from 100% Chenin Blanc planted in clay/limestone soil. Along with indigenous yeasts, there is no use of oak, which helps keep the wine fresh. They have recently received Terra-Vitis Certification. Tasting Notes: Chamomile honey on the nose, tendrils of honeysuckle and jasmine. Display flavors of honey, fresh peas, lime and quince.
