Vinous Reverie Notes
The Duroussay winery is located in southern Burgundy in the heart of the Maconnais hills with the ideal solar exposition for viticulture. The vineyards are mostly planted in the village of Pierreclos with some plots of Chardonnay in Saint-Veran and Milly Lamartine. Maconnais wines are delicate and floral, with a balanced acidity and relatively low alcohol content. Certified "haute valeur environnementale" representing their environmentally friendly farming practices. This sparkling Chardonnay is made with the same traditional methods used in Champagne. The varietal expression, aroma, and bubbles are equally as fine and complex. Tasting Notes: Delicate pineapple and peach with very expressive fresh citrus. Dry and acidic. Intense bubbles. Full body with an initial dominance of lemon peel that turns into passion fruit and brioche. Food Pairing: Great on its own or as an apertif. The acidity and tropical notes are perfect with fresh pacific oysters. If you're feeling more creative, pair with olive tapenade on toast or ceviche. After dinner, enjoy with fresh lemon pie or macarons.
