"A fresh blend of Nebbiolo, Croatina and Vespolina produced on iron-rich soils high in the mountains in Alto Piemonte. Elevation and low-pH soils, wines from this area tend to result in lower-alcohol wines than those of the Langhe.
This is a real charmer, with dry, ferrous minerality on the finish but the purity of a fine Nebbiolo initially. Transparent ruby, it's not concentrated but is oh-so-appetising. Great lift and local character: a friendly Nebbiolo for fairly early consumption. 16.5/20 points."

Vinous Reverie Notes
Here’s a Nebbiolo blend etched by an extinct volcanic terroir of yellow porphyritic sand. 300 million years ago, a volcano created the raw material for the Coste della Sesia DOC and eight other geographically complex appellations, collectively known as Alto Piemonte. The addition of the varieties Croatina and Vespolina add resonance and spice to the wonder that is Nebbiolo, while the volcanic soils and more northerly latitude give wines of a particular elegance, perfume, and refreshment compared with the more powerful Nebbioli from Barolo and Barbaresco to the south. Colombera & Garella is project of with Cristiano Garella, Alto Piemontese wünderkind and leading consultant for a number of properties, with his long-time friend Giacomo Colombera, and Giacomo’s father, Carlo, who has been growing grapes in Bramaterra since the early 1990s. This property has quickly become one of the gems alto Piemonte, especially in the Lessona and Bramaterra growing areas. In the commune of Roasio, in the Alto Piemonte DOC of Coste della Sesia. Soils are high-acid, yellow porphyritic sand of volcanic origin, which lends mineral character and perfumve to the wines. Natural farming, with only copper, sulfur, and natural fertilizer being added. Tasting Notes: An Alto Piemontese Nebbiolo blend of elegance, minerality, and great drinkability. Food Pairing: Drink it with protein-based antipasti and first courses or with lighter meat courses.
