Product Description
Jancis Robinson
"Certified AB and Ecocert organic.
Just lovely, fresh, red-apple and redcurrant fruit on the nose. Some gentle oolong-tea notes that stay present throughout, delivering biddable astringency and a nexus of honey-spice-dust-earth that sits at the heart of the fresh cherry fruit. Perhaps less power and impact than their other wines, but it has more complexity, elegance and charm. 16.5/20 points. (TC)"
Vinous Reverie Notes
The Chateau de la Liquiere mirrors, in many ways, the Faugères appellation. The Vidal family has been making wine here since the 1700s. Jean Vidal, the father of the present owner, Bernard Vidal, helped to create in the early 1950s, along with his brother Lucien and a third winemaker, the VDQS that preceded the AOC Faugeres Red wine appellation that was put in place in 1982. The Vidals, convinced that their wild, rocky terroir was capable of producing distinctive wine, were among the first growers in the region to bottle their wines for commercial sale starting back in the 1960's.
