91 points Wine Enthusiast
“This is a blend of equal parts Syrah and Grenache sourced from the limestone and blue marl soils of Grignan-les-Adhémar. Blackberry and plum flavors are intoxicating and ripe yet have a firm strike of acidity and revitalizing mineral finish. Delightful now the wine should stay at peak through 2025.”
Vinous Reverie Notes
Only 39 domains exist in Grignan, and Chateau Bizard stands out as arguably the finest. Allan, the town in which Chateau Bizard is located, has enjoyed a recognized wine-growing reputation since the 17th century. This commune is located in the southern part of the Rhone Valley. The terroir is very specific - the subsoil is composed of limestone scree on blue marls. The very generous sunshine and the presence of the famous “Mistral” wind from the north of the Rhone Valley are all natural factors that guarantee quality production.
