James Suckling
"Dark cherries, peperoncino and cedar. Full-bodied and lightly spicy with plenty of raspberry-compote character."
Jancis Robinson
"Greve in Chianti – Panzano. 90% Sangiovese, 10% Merlot.
Lustrous mid ruby. Peppery, balsamic cherry fruit nose that is a little stalky. Lots of acidity and surprisingly fresh raspberry fruit – its freshness not at all reflective of this very hot and arid vintage. Looks like the fruit was harvested early. Great length. 17/20 points. (WS)"
Vinous Reverie Notes
Grapes: 90% Sangiovese and 10% Merlot. A wine that expresses the genuineness of the Tuscan conviviality, with lively but very pleasant tannins. The wine bears the original name of the stone tower, where the owners still live with their family: the name "Casaloste" has ancient origins that are lost in the past, when the building was used as a sighting tower. Tasting Notes: Ruby red. At the beginning you can perceive a strong fresh red fruit, such as currants, strawberries and cherries. The violet is clearly recognizable on the palate. Pleasant, fruity wine, supported by the typical acidity of Sangiovese and characterized by long and elegant tannins. Food Pairing: It goes with: grilled red meat, white meat, medium aged cheeses. An ideal wine also as an accompaniment throughout the meal.
