"White gold with silver reflections. Fragrant yellow fruit with a slightly exotic touch of pineapple, some brioche and hints of vanilla. Juicy initial taste, creamy mouthfeel with harmonious acidity, some citrus confit, finely woven bubbles. Fresh finish with an appealing length."

"Cream and apples on the nose. Full, fruity, flecked with struck match and a slender swirl of caramel through the crisp apple-citrus fruit. Confident bubbles that start tight and focused and loosen into froth by the finish. I'm not sure I'd pay £20, but it's a very decent Saumur sparkling, with all the boxes of structure, balance, development, length and fruit firmly ticked. I like the lingering chalky sherbet on the finish. 16.5/20 points. (TC)"
